A beautiful spray tan starts before your appointment. A little preparation—and the right aftercare—can help you get the most even, natural-looking and long-lasting result possible.

Shower, shave & exfoliate
Shower, shave and thoroughly exfoliate either the day before or the morning of your spray tan appointment. Removing dry, dead skin helps create a smoother, more even canvas for your tan.
Arrive with clean, product-free skin
Please arrive without moisturizer, body lotion, perfume or deodorant on your skin.
Plan waxing ahead
If you wax, schedule waxing at least 3 days before your spray tan appointment.
Schedule nails & pedicures first
Manicures and pedicures should be completed at least 24 hours before your spray tan, rather than afterward.
Stay hydrated
Well-hydrated skin helps support a smoother result and can help your tan wear more evenly.
What to Wear
Wear as much or as little as makes you comfortable. Clients may wear their own undergarments or swimsuit if preferred.
Bronze Touch also provides disposable underwear and disposable nipple covers/pasties for clients who would like them.
Your comfort and privacy are important throughout your appointment.
Bring or wear loose, dark, comfortable clothing to leave the salon.
Avoid tight clothing that may rub against the developing tan, including:
- Leggings
- Tight jeans
- Tight-fitting clothing
- Socks
Choose flip-flops or slides rather than shoes that require socks.
Your Appointment
A Custom Airbrush Spray Tan appointment typically takes approximately 15 minutes.
Your technician will talk with you about your desired result and help determine the appropriate formula and rinse option for your schedule and tanning goals.
Bronze Touch offers both Classic and Rapid Rinse custom spray options.
Your technician will give you specific rinse instructions based on the formula used during your appointment. Always follow the rinse time provided by your technician.
You will have privacy to dress or undress to your personal comfort level before your spray begins.
Protect Your Tan
During the initial development period, avoid anything that can expose the developing tan to moisture until your instructed rinse time. This includes:
Follow the personalized rinse instructions provided by your technician. Rapid Rinse does not mean the tan has finished developing when you rinse—color will continue developing after the initial rinse.
There is no universal Classic or Rapid Rinse time. Always follow the specific rinse instructions provided by your Bronze Touch technician.
Make Your Tan Last
With proper care, a Bronze Touch spray tan can typically last approximately 7–10 days.
We do not recommend specific third-party product brands. Ask your technician for guidance.
